Trip - Pulau Untung Jawa

Saturday August 17, 2013 ( Yes, happy independence day Indonesia! ) we made this small trip to Pulau Untung Jawa, a part of Kepulauan Seribu, Jakarta, Indonesia. If you looking for a near, cheap yet a good place for a mind relaxation then Pulau Untung Jawa is the right answer.

We arrived at Pantai Tanjung Pasir right at noon then we crossed the island by a boat. In Tanjung Pasir, you should pay IDR 5,000/person, IDR 20,000 for car parking and IDR 5,000 for motorcycle. For boat when crossing the island, you have to pay IDR 15,000/person and IDR 3,000 at the Pulau Untung Jawa's entrance. After 30 minutes you'll got your feet on Pulau Untung Jawa. I recommended you not to come at holiday season. It's gonna be as crowded as a concert place.

As you arrived, you can choose. If you go to the left, you'll go to the mangroves. And if you go to the right, you'll go to Pantai Timur. Which is my favorite spot. It has a white sand and super nice view, but too bad it also has lots of corals, so you have to be careful. You can try banana boat too for the water recreation.

For the food, it is a so-so. Yea, seafood everywhere but still it has a standard taste or a little too pricey. Better pack your own lunch and bring a water bottle or snacks. There's a lot of home stays. The price range start from IDR 200,000 - 400,000/night. I didn't stay over night. I went back to Tanjung Pasir at 6 pm. The boat crew told me that boats available until 9 pm.

It was my first time, I had fun yet feeling better and I became excited to try another island in Kepulauan Seribu. See you in another trip - Cheers!
